saslauthdで「do_auth : auth failure」が出力されている

saslauthdで以下のエラーが出力されていました。

Jul 25 20:53:45 xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx saslauthd[589]: do_auth : auth failure: [user=photobooth] [service=smtp] [realm=xxxxxx] [mech=pam] [reason=PAM auth error]

これ、SMTPの認証に失敗しているというエラーです。

身に覚えがなく、同じようなエラーが大量に出力されている場合はSPAMメールの業者が悪さをしようとしていると考えて問題ないですね。
